We are currently seeking reliable, motivated Labourers / Trade Assistants to join our team at Mackay Shipyard. Our shipyard has been servicing the Mackay and Whitsunday regions for over 20 years, offering a range of services from vessel repairs to marine maintenance. Assist tradesmen with various shipyard operations including steel and pipe work, hull repairs, and mechanical tasks Perform high pressure water wash-down, abrasive blasting, and ultra-high pressure water blasting Assist with painting, antifouling application, and surface preparation General labour duties including site cleaning, material handling, and equipment preparation Provide support for underwater services, including repairs and class surveys Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the marine or construction industry (not mandatory but preferred) Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team Strong work ethic and a high level of physical fitness Valid Driver’s License Commitment to safety and following all workplace safety procedures Willingness to learn and develop skills in the marine industry Desirable Attributes: Experience with abrasive blasting, painting, or ship repairs Forklift and/or crane operator license (advantageous but not required)
