As the business continues to grow, they are now seeking a qualified and experienced Data Scientist to collaborate closely with customers so as to ensure analytical outputs are useful and meet user case needs. About the role: The Data Scientist analyses and interprets complex datasets to support business and product decision-making. The role involves applying statistical, analytical, and predictive modelling techniques to identify trends and insights. Salary: Offered in the range of $130k to $140k plus superannuation per annum Tenure: Full-time and ongoing Location: Melbourne VIC Responsibilities include: Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to analyse large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies relevant to business and product performance. Develop, test, and validate statistical and predictive models to support forecasting, optimisation, and decision-making. Design and analyse experiments (such as A/B tests) to measure the impact of product or process changes. Define, document, and maintain standardised metrics and analytical frameworks to ensure consistent interpretation of data. Develop analytical reports, dashboards, and visualisations to clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Interpret analytical results to provide evidence-based insights to clients. Collaborate with data, analytics, and engineering teams ( inside client companies) to ensure data quality, integrity, and appropriate use of analytical outputs. Apply appropriate statistical techniques and methodologies while ensuring accuracy, validity, and transparency of analysis. Stay informed about developments in data science, AI, analytics techniques, and industry best practices, and apply relevant methods where appropriate. To be successfully considered for this role we will look for candidates with: A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or a related quantitative discipline. In addition to your diverse career highlights, we are looking for one or more years of proven experience specifically within data analysis and predictive modelling to round out your technical profile. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis and data modelling techniques. Strategic thinking and the ability to balance business and product goals with velocity and engineering excellence. Proficiency in data querying and analysis tools (e.g. SQL, Python, or R). Experience using analytical tools (e.g. SQL, Looker, Tableau, Mode, Amplitude, Google Analytics) Experience with data visualisation and reporting tools.
