In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, repairing, and renovating structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials. Working across residential and commercial projects, you will translate technical drawings into durable, accurate builds. This role requires practical expertise, precision, and the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team. Registration or licensing may be required. Responsibilities: Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, materials required, and installation procedures Order, select, and prepare materials, including timber, for layout and assembly Cut materials, shape components, and assemble parts using hand and power tools Construct frameworks, sub-flooring, floorboards, roof framing, and verify structural accuracy Install fascia panels, external wall cladding, sheathing, and door and window frames Assemble pre-cut and shaped timber in the workshop or on-site, ready for installation Cut complex wood joints for precise fitting of components and fixtures Construct and dismantle concrete formwork for foundations and structural elements Carry out repairs and modifications to existing structures and fittings Work with a variety of materials including plastic laminates, Perspex, and metal where required Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and relevant industry regulations Maintain tools and equipment, and manage material usage efficiently Collaborate with other trades and construction teams to ensure timely project delivery Contribute to site clean-up and organisation during and after job completion Qualifications and Skills: Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in carpentry or general construction Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery Proficient in constructing and assembling wooden structures both in workshops and on-site Strong knowledge of building materials, structural systems, and installation practices Familiarity with health and safety regulations and construction site protocols Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varied environments Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to site conditions Excellent time management and reliability Registration or licensing may be required depending on state or project Permanent Residents (PR) and Australian Citizens are eligible to apply Job Type: Full-time Job Types: Permanent, Full-time Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year Super Benefits: Work on a variety of projects across WA with opportunities for growth Schedule: 8-hour shift Work Authorisation: Australia (Required) Work Location: On-site and workshop-based projects in WA 6009
