Convenience Buttons: Time Remaining 13 days Contract Surveillance Officer Signalling Systems About the role The Contract Surveillance Officer Signalling Systems plays a vital role within the Network & Infrastructure Division, conducting inspections, audits and surveillance of contractor works to ensure compliance with contract requirements, public safety, rail safety and environmental standards across major transport infrastructure projects. The role provides technical oversight of signalling works, monitors contractor performance, and contributes to the quality, safety and reliability of infrastructure delivered on the PTA network. Additionally, the role assists in coordinating network works to ensure they are completed safely, efficiently and to required standards. This includes supporting operational performance, managing risks, maintaining accurate records, contributing to asset reliability, and providing informed assessments on contractor progress, variations and project documentation. Through strong collaboration and technical expertise, the position helps ensure the successful delivery of high‑quality signalling infrastructure. About You! To excel in this role, you should possess: WA ‘A’ Grade Electrical Workers Licence with strong rail safety knowledge and extensive experience installing, testing, maintaining and commissioning signalling systems, including interlockings, track circuits, signals, power distribution, ATP equipment, point machines, fibre and copper systems, and earthing/bonding. Solid understanding of signalling construction, testing and commissioning standards, earthing and bonding principles, and civil works relating to pit and pipe infrastructure in an operating electrified railway environment. Experienced in managing contractor relationships and supervising work delivered by others, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparing technical reports, supported by well‑developed analytical, investigative and problem‑solving abilities. Well‑organised with the ability to manage competing priorities, proficient in MS Office and diagnostic tools, and demonstrates strong safety leadership, self‑awareness, and commitment to personal and team development.
