United Drilling Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our field service team you can be based in QLD or interstate. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and repairing a wide range of industrial equipment and machinery used across our operations. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of our operations. This role will be for the person who enjoys working a 5:2 in the workshop based at Alligator Creek and travel working a 2:2 roster between our sites to maintain our rigs in QLD, WA, SA and the NT. About the Role: Local applicants (Mackay, Sarina and surrounding areas) preferred Performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various mechanical equipment, including drill rigs, earthmoving equipment, heavy rigid trucks, trailers and light vehicles Collaborating with other team members to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure the timely completion of work orders Maintaining accurate records of work performed and reporting on the status of equipment Adhering to all safety protocols and environmental regulations to ensure a safe and sustainable work environment You will be required to work across a variety of different sites/projects as required Application Requirements: Mechanical / Diesel Fitter trade qualification – or Fitter and Turner qualifications (with heavy equipment mechanical experience) or Light Vehicle trade qualification (with Heavy Equipment experience - ideal but not mandatory) Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mechanic Fitter in an industrial or manufacturing setting MUST be able to travel within QLD and interstate Willingness to learn new skills and challenge yourself Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment issues Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders Sound understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems will be an advantage Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and the ability to work safely in a hazardous environment Lathe/machining experience will be an advantage - Setting up, operating and maintaining our lathe and other machining equipment Hold a current open driver's license, HR license or higher preferred Hold a Construction Industry White Card Must have or willing to obtain medicals as required by sites.
