With a strong emphasis on quality and precision, they support industrial, structural, and custom fabrication projects. Our client is currently seeking a Leading Hand/2IC to join their team in their Greenfields workshop to strengthen leadership and maintain quality standards. About the opportunity In this role, you will be supporting the Workshop Manager, overseeing workflow coordination, production quality, and mentoring of up to 10 workshop staff, including apprentices and trade assistances. It combines hands-on fabrication with team leadership and continuous improvement duties. Responsibilities include: Fabricating and welding using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium. Providing hands-on training and guidance to apprentices and junior staff. Conducting quality checks and inspections to verify workmanship. Reading and interpreting technical drawings and fabrication plans. Assist in welding tasks as needed while ensuring deadlines are met About you Our client requires a qualified fabricator, welder or boilermaker with proven experience across steel, aluminium and stainless welding. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: A forklift licence and a valid driver’s licence An ability to read and interpret technical drawings Workshop machinery and overhead crane experience (desirable) Proven experience in both welding and fabrication. Strong leadership and mentoring skills. High attention to detail and pride in your work.
