Description One Harvest is seeking a dedicated NPD Process Technologist to join our commercial team in Sydney. In this permanent full-time role, you will play a key role in the development, optimisation, and successful launch of new and existing products. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation of newly developed salad recipes from approved concept through to launch, in accordance with the Stage Gate process. Design, plan, and execute factory trials; accurately record results and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance manufacturing capability and product quality. Scale benchtop samples to factory production to assess feasibility, including cut size, product quality, and packing performance. Evaluate new and existing products against microbiological, physical, chemical, and sensory criteria, ensuring compliance with FSANZ and customer requirements. Develop, review, and maintain product specifications, including: Running the VITAL tool to manage allergen declarations and precautionary labelling. Calculating Nutritional Information Panels (NIP) and Health Star Ratings (HSR) using AUSNUT data. Drafting accurate and compliant ingredient declarations in line with raw material composition and FSANZ guidelines. Support supply chain optimization through carton format development and palletization planning for new products. Assist in the development and maintenance of quality and food safety procedures associated with recipe changes and process improvements. Act as the primary point of contact for customer NPD requests, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery. Review and verify AFGC Product Information Forms (PIFs) from suppliers for accuracy and compliance. Coordinate with national and site-based teams to support critical business initiatives, including rebrands and product transitions. Ensure products meet customer specifications and all relevant regulatory requirements. Promote and adhere to site-wide food safety, GMP, and quality standards, including participation in scheduled site walkthroughs. Support internal and external audits in collaboration with the national technical and factory teams. Key Accountabilities Lead trials and experiments to optimize existing processes and support new product development. Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including process parameters, specifications, and standard procedures. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements. Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders on product development and process-related matters. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Proven experience in new product development within a food manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of NPD processes and methodologies. Demonstrated ability to conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new products. Sound knowledge of food regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements. Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Production, and Quality. Strong data analysis and interpretation skills to support informed decision-making. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment. Highly developed communication skills, with confidence in presenting findings and recommendations.
