They are now seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Director to join them in continuing the centre’s proud tradition of community engagement and high-quality practice. About the Service Poets Grove is a well-established, community-managed centre with a long-standing team and a strong reputation for excellence in education and care. The service is governed by an engaged parent committee and supported by experienced board members who are deeply committed to best practice, compliance, and ongoing investment in their people. About the Role This role offers the chance to work alongside an experienced, professional, and knowledgeable Centre Director who is genuinely passionate about building a strong and collaborative leadership team. This opportunity suits an experienced early childhood leader who is strong with ideas, confident in their abilities, and highly organised, with the capability to model best practice and help sustain high-quality outcomes across compliance, pedagogy, and operations. Key Responsibilities Support the Centre Director in leading a high-performing team Maintain and strengthen Exceeding practice under the National Quality Framework Oversee WHS compliance and risk management processes Coordinate student placements and partnerships Manage staff DET files, ensuring all documentation and qualifications are current Lead staff inductions and onboarding processes Conduct centre tours and support family enrolments Contribute to QIP implementation and continuous improvement Support roster management, utilisation, and daily operations About You You are an experienced early childhood leader who is passionate about people and quality practice. Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education Strong working knowledge of the National Quality Framework and EYLF Proven leadership experience in a high-quality service Confident in compliance, documentation, and Assessment & Rating preparation Calm, organised, and solutions-focused Excellent communication and people-leadership skills Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates Current Working with Children Check The successful candidate will bring strong pedagogical knowledge and proven experience guiding and supporting experienced educators, helping to maintain and strengthen Exceeding-level education and care practices. You are confident in your leadership abilities and actively seek opportunities to enhance quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. With a strong community focus, you build trusted relationships with families and stakeholders and communicate with clarity and professionalism. Your exceptional organisation, delegation, and stakeholder management skills enable you to align people, practice, and purpose — supporting the Centre Director to drive the service forward.
