3 month role with possible extension Brisbane CBD based Our Queensland Government client is seeking an experienced and agile Senior Governance Officer to provide corporate services and specialist advice to internal stakeholders. Key Accountabilities Support the development of governance policies and procedures to meet obligations established under legislation, guidelines, and standards Establish collaborative internal and external stakeholder relationships, consider wider implications of deliverables, and interact with subject experts and business groups to link initiatives and inter-dependences Provide high-level written reports, briefs, presentations, submissions, and advice with the ability to distil complex matters into succinct, clear, and articulate communications Provide strategic and operational advice and support by regularly reviewing the risk management framework, strategic and operational planning and implementation of effective reporting identifying emerging issues Develop and implement best practice for delegations, compliance, integrity, policy, and governance frameworks Support the delivery of external reports on organisational performance and achievements Assist in the preparation of estimates briefs, review and coordinate responses to requests for consultation Communicate with influence in relation to complex compliance and governance concepts to diverse audiences Provide support, education, and training to build corporate governance capability and awareness Provide support to the Manager, Corporate Governance as required. Key knowledge and experience Demonstrated experience delivering key governance portfolios Ability to pick up new tasks/portfolios where there are knowledge gaps Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills A qualification in law, business and/or governance would be highly regarded.
