Role responsibilities As an Assistant Director in People Branch, you will: be a trusted adviser to senior executives on complex workforce issues including, but not limited to, performance, workplace relations and safety. interpret and provide accurate specialist advice and support to line managers and employees on HR policies and procedures lead the development and delivery of HR initiatives that strengthen the agency’s resilience and readiness build and sustain relationships across the agency and with external stakeholders to deliver workforce solutions mentor and develop staff, contributing to the future leadership capability contribute to a positive workplace culture, embedding ACIC and APS values Your skills and capabilities We invite applications from people with the following experience, skills and attributes: Outstanding leadership skills and an ability to build and maintain professional relationships and collaborate across teams to achieve results Ability to lead projects and change in a proactive, positive and dynamic way to resolve challenging HR issues Experience in identifying issues, developing solutions and providing quality HR advice, service and strategy Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging according to target audiences including Senior Executives Sense of curiosity and an ability to think laterally and problem solve, while managing risk. Eligibility Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
