The Impact of the Role As Family Navigator within Community and Psychosocial Services, you will deliver trauma-informed, culturally safe and holistic support to children and young people who have displayed problematic or harmful sexual behaviours, and to their families. Through early engagement, structured risk assessment and tailored safety planning, you will help reduce risk, stabilise family environments and create coordinated pathways to care that support healing and long-term wellbeing. Working within a socio-ecological, evidence informed framework, you will reduce barriers to access through outreach, advocacy and warm referrals, while coordinating care across schools, youth justice, child protection and community organisations to strengthen integrated support pathways. Reporting to the Head of Wellbeing and Clinical Practice and working closely with the Child and Family Therapist, you will contribute to high quality, culturally responsive practice and continuous improvement, supporting both individual families and broader system capability. Key Responsibilities Deliver trauma informed, culturally safe case management, including intake, structured risk assessment and tailored safety planning Identify and manage risky behaviours using evidence informed and structured tools aligned with relevant practice standards Provide education and capacity building for parents, carers, schools and community partners Conduct proactive outreach and engagement to reduce barriers to access, including in language support and warm referrals Coordinate care across multiple systems to ensure holistic, integrated and consistent support Build and maintain strong partnerships with local, ethnic specific and faith based organisations Maintain accurate documentation, case notes and reports, ensuring compliance with professional, ethical and WHS standards Contribute to reflective practice, evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives Uphold Fair Foundations Cultural Diversity Principles across all aspects of service delivery About You You are a dedicated, skilled and organised caseworker, with a proven background of working effectively with diverse communities and children, young people and their families. You’re confident and capable in decision-making, de-escalating conflict and managing risky behaviours. You will bring: A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social sciences, Social work or related fields Minimum of two years’ experience providing case management and clinical support to children, young people and their families, which included safety planning and managing risky behaviours. Demonstrated understanding of, or willingness to train in, the Minimum Practice Standards for Specialist and Community Support Services Responding to Child Sexual Abuse and the upcoming National Clinical and Therapeutic Framework for Responding to Children and Young People with Harmful Sexual Behaviour.
