About the role Join our team as a Senior Accountant and take charge of managing the financial operations across our Breakthru Disability Services. In this key position, you’ll ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial reporting, while managing budgets and ensuring strict compliance with accounting standards and regulations specific to disability services. Key responsibilities include: Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for the disability services division. Develop, implement, and monitor budgets for disability services programs, ensuring they align with organisational goals and financial objectives. Provide financial forecasts and variance analyses to assist in strategic planning. Analyse and manage costs associated with disability services, identifying opportunities for financial improvement and optimising resource allocation. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, government regulations (e.g., NDIS requirements), and internal policies. Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and insights. Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger for disability services, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes. Manage the financial aspects of funding and grants, including tracking, reporting, and compliance with funding agreements. Collaborate with program managers, support staff, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support the effective delivery of disability services. Maintain and improve financial systems and processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in financial reporting and analysis. About you We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with: Essential Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CA certification is strongly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with exposure to health or disability services highly desirable. Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with NDIS financial management and reporting is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively. High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality. Willingness to occasionally travel to our Rydalmere site.
