Sydney CBD | Cloud-Based Firm | Clear Path to Manager We are partnering with a growing Sydney-based accounting firm seeking a Senior Accountant / Supervisor to join their CBD office. This is a genuine growth role offering structured progression into a Manager position. The firm operates across three Sydney locations with approximately 30 staff nationally. The CBD office (10 staff) is led by a hands-on Partner who provides direct client exposure and strong mentorship. The practice is technology-driven, fully cloud-based and known for its supportive culture and modern systems. The Opportunity Due to increasing client demand and capacity constraints at Partner and Manager level, the firm is looking for an experienced Senior who can step into a key role within the team. You will work closely with the Partner, manage your own portfolio and oversee junior staff, with clear development into management. Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of SME clients ($2M-$20M turnover) Review complex compliance work across all entity types Prepare and review Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns Provide proactive tax planning and business advisory support Supervise and mentor junior/intermediate accountants Liaise directly with clients and build long-term relationships Assist in managing workflow between onshore and offshore team members Contribute to business improvement and growth initiatives About You 4 years' experience in public practice Strong Xero capability Experience reviewing junior work and managing workflow Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills Degree qualified (Accounting major) CA/CPA qualified or progressing Commercial mindset and motivated to step into management What's on Offer Clear pathway to Manager Direct Partner access and mentorship Modern CBD office Quarterly bonus structure (including 1% quarterly bonus) 10% annual salary increase for hitting performance targets Commission on client and cross-department referrals CA/CPA support Strong team culture with quarterly social events and cross-office functions Structured work-life balance Hybrid model: 4 days in office, 1 day WFH (Wednesdays) For more information or a confidential discuss, please contact Steve Merritt on 0404 426 749.
