About the role Join our Infrastructure Asset and Data Management team as a key leader responsible for overseeing the governance, coordination, and continuous improvement of Council’s integrated spatial and asset information services. In the role of Team Leader (Spatial and Asset Information) you will guide and develop a high‑performing team, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and high‑quality data services that support operations across the organisation. You will provide expert technical advice and strategic direction on enterprise GIS and asset information systems, helping to drive informed, evidence‑based decision‑making across Ipswich City Council. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Provide expert advice on spatial and asset information systems and contribute to related ICT policies and governance Lead the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the enterprise GIS, including change management and user capability Develop and maintain policies, strategies, data standards, and data architecture to ensure high‑quality, sustainable services Oversee data integrity, system performance, and supplier coordination to meet organisational requirements Monitor industry developments to ensure contemporary GIS practices are adopted Lead the Spatial and Asset Information team and manage budgets, resources, and operations to meet service levels View the position description for more details about the role. About you To be successful in this role you will have: Tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution in the fields of computer science, information technology or associated discipline and/or experience and expertise Extensive experience implementing and managing spatial information systems, including enterprise spatial database architecture Strong capability in defining business requirements and delivering effective change management for spatial and ICT systems Advanced knowledge of contemporary GIS technologies and emerging industry trends High‑level analytical skills for complex research, evaluation, and operational planning Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including managing staff and consultants Proven ability to manage competing priorities and provide strategic direction for spatial and asset information services About the benefits This is a permanent full-time position with a salary commencing at $133,727 plus 12.5% superannuation.
