Golding currently have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Health, Safety and Environment team based in Brisbane. This is an exciting opportunity for someone new to the industry to gain hands-on experience in WH&S within civil construction and mining, supporting key WH&S functions and contributing to systems improvement. You will be enthusiastic, motivated to succeed and have a high attention to detail. Because Golding is a projects-based organisation the scope of the role includes both working within the corporate team and with site-based personnel. A proactive and organised work style along with strong interpersonal and communication skills will be essential for role success. Golding have flexible working conditions allowing you to work from home and in our Brisbane office. Travel to project sites will be required on an ad-hoc basis. Key role tasks include: Provide support to Managers, both corporate and project-based teams in the execution of health and safety strategies across Golding Administration activities, including controlling records, updating registers and documentation Collect and analyse key health and safety data and information to assist Managers on trends and recommend improvements Participate in audits and other governance activities Provide advice and support to frontline leaders on general health and safety matters Identify business improvement opportunities and initiatives that Golding should adopt for continuous improvement Develop effective relationships with personnel at all levels of the business and with external stakeholders as required Key role capability requirements: Degree level qualification in occupational health and safety or related field; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the adept use of software that supports these; Demonstrated ‘hands on’ approach and a high attention to detail is essential; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Solutions focused with strong influencing skills; Ability to build effective interpersonal relationships at all levels across the business; Knowledge of work health and safety laws, regulations, and contemporary health and safety policies and processes; and Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
