About the Team and Role Beyond Blue’s Government Relations team sits at the centre of how we partner with governments across Australia. It connects our organisation with policymakers, ensuring our insights, services and community voices influence the decisions that shape mental health outcomes. The team oversees all core government funding, manages trusted relationships with key departments and ensures Beyond Blue meets every contractual commitment with integrity and impact. It’s a small, strategic and high performing team that works across the organisation to lift our influence and strengthen partnerships. As our Government Relations Adviser, you’ll play a key role in how Beyond Blue demonstrates impact. You’ll lead the production of high-quality reports and communication by distilling complex organisational activity into clear, timely updates for government stakeholders. You’ll also act as a connector across internal teams — tracking changes, gathering insights and translating them into meaningful communication for our government partners. Reporting to the Government Relations Lead, this role is central to strengthening our credibility, relationships and influence with government. About you You bring a mix of strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a genuine interest in government and public policy. You’re confident working across multiple stakeholders, comfortable managing detail, and enjoy translating complex information into clear, digestible insights. You’ll bring: Tertiary qualifications in communications, public policy, community engagement, or related field. Experience in a similar or transferable role where reporting coordination, analysis and communication were key. A genuine interest in working with external stakeholders and navigating how organisations collaborate. Strong relationship skills — you’re confident working with people across different teams and levels. Project coordination strengths, with great attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills, able to produce clear, well-structured reports, updates, and briefs. A collaborative approach, enjoying shared problem solving and working towards common outcomes.
