An opportunity has arisen for a Contaminated Land Consultant to join our Land Quality & Remediation team in our Sydney office. This a permanent, full-time role suited for a candidate with a physical sciences background and between 2-5 years of experience in the field with soil science, geology, geomorphology or hydrogeology. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will work onsite to support a truly diverse range of projects in NSW as well as across the APAC region. This is a unique working arrangement where you will support projects both on a swing style roster, with benefits such as per diem allowances and time off in lieu, as well as projects based out of our Sydney office. You will collaborate with principal hydrogeologists, risk assessors, and environmental engineers focusing on contaminants of concern and be exposed to ongoing opportunities for technical development. Job Tasks and Responsibilities Undertaking field work, including but not limited to: soil, soil vapour, sediment surface water, groundwater and gas sampling along with well installation and logging. Delivering quality reports (PSI, SAQP, DSI and basic RAP preparation) with a strong understanding of QA/QC requirements. Maintaining strong client and stakeholder communications including site owners and regulatory authorities Design and implement Preliminary Site Investigations (PSI) and Detailed Site Investigations (DSI) for various media and contamination type from proposal stage to final reporting including managing budgets and subcontractors. Prepare Remediation action plans and validation reports Skills and Experience Between 2-5 years of professional experience in a similar role in a consulting background Qualification in environmental sciences or other relevant physical sciences degree Project management experience and strong technical writing and stakeholder management Understanding of Conceptual Site Model (CSM) components and development for evaluation of risk Experience with interpretation of chemical data using software such as ESdat and ProUCL to identify contamination risks. Understanding of relevant NSW EPA guidelines such as Consultants Reporting on Contaminated Land, Waste Classification Guidelines, Sample Design, Resilience & Hazards SEPP, NEPM (2013), PFAS NEMP, and ANZG. Hold a current and unrestricted Driver’s Licence in New South Wales with a positive driving history Australia Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
