We are seeking a senior competition lawyer to join our National Competition & Regulatory team. Th is role provide s an excellent opportunity to work with industry leaders on high profile matters in a dynamic, collabor ative and sup portive team environment. The Mallesons National Competition team is a market leading team with a Band One Chambers ranking ( Asia Pacific 2026) . Our team specialises in all areas of competition law, including high profile mergers and joint ventures, contentious competition and consumer law investigations and litigation, ACCC market studies, access to essential infrastructure and industry regulation issues. We advise our clients on large scale commercial transactions, investigations and litigation, and act for major Australian and international corporations across a wide range of industries. Our national team is led by recognised leading competition Partners, Wayne Leach , Caroline Coops , Lisa Huett , Peta Stevenson , Jennifer Barron , Simon Cooke , Tamara Hunter and Christopher Kok . All members of our team work with a range of partners and lawyers nationally, across a wide range of competition and consumer issues. To assist in their career development, each member is also supervised directly by one or more partners . Ideally this role will be located in Sydney, but we operate as a national practice and are open to considering candidates located in Melbourne or Canberra . You will have: i deally, broad competition and consumer experience . E xperience in regulatory investigations and litigation in relation to Part IV of the Competition and Consumer Act and the Australian Consumer Law will be highly regarded a strong team focus and a positive attitude . As a leader in the team, you will be able to delegate to and mentor junior lawyers previous experience in an Australian or overseas law firm - preferably a top tier firm - or a competition regulator an ability to identify and think through complex legal issues and to provide practical and effective solutions an ability to lead matters and engage directly with clients You will have excellent written, analytical, communication and research skills to contribute to the delivery of prompt and commercially astute advice and a strong commitment to client service. You will also play a role in supporting and actively developing our relationships with clients by working on matters with them, as well as having an enthusiasm to be involved in business development activities by participating in industry related programs and developing strategic relationships and networks.
