Role Purpose The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company vehicles to transport equipment, vehicles, parts, and materials in support of mobile mechanical operations and related services. The role ensures timely service delivery to customers while maintaining compliance with road transport legislation, fatigue management requirements, and workplace health and safety standards. This position contributes directly to operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance by ensuring that all transport activities are conducted professionally, safely, and in accordance with Australian standards. Key Responsibilities Operate heavy vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with relevant NSW road transport legislation and company policies. Transport vehicles, mechanical equipment, tools, and parts to designated locations within scheduled timeframes. Conduct daily pre-start and post-trip inspections, identifying and reporting mechanical faults or safety concerns promptly. Secure loads appropriately to prevent damage, loss, or safety risks during transit. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logbooks, and transport records in compliance with regulatory requirements. Adhere to fatigue management, heavy vehicle mass and load restraint regulations at all times. Communicate effectively with dispatch, mechanics, and clients to coordinate pick-ups and deliveries. Provide professional customer service when interacting with clients on-site. Ensure vehicle cleanliness and basic routine maintenance checks are completed regularly. Comply with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies, safe work procedures, and risk management protocols. Assist with loading and unloading activities, ensuring safe manual handling practices are followed. Monitor fuel usage and vehicle performance, reporting irregularities as required. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and safety outcomes. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to maintain industry knowledge and compliance standards. What We Are Looking For (Requirements) Minimum one (1) year of relevant work experience operating heavy vehicles in a commercial environment. Relevant qualification such as a Certificate III in Driving Operations or equivalent industry-recognised training. Valid Australian Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence appropriate to the class of vehicle operated (e.g., HR or above). Demonstrated knowledge of Australian road transport laws, load restraint requirements, and fatigue management obligations. Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with WHS regulations. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
