This is an opportunity to join the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority's (IHACPA) Aged Care Policy Branch. You are responsible for supporting the development of key policy documents pertaining to IHACPA's legislated function of providing aged care pricing and costing advice to the Minister for Health and Ageing. You will be supporting the Manager, Aged Care Policy and the Director, Aged Care Policy in the delivery of the aged care work program and other matters as they arise. The role supports the delivery of specific aged care policy frameworks and projects, including the annual public consultation paper, the annual pricing framework and accompanying consultation report, the annual pricing advice, pricing model refinement projects and funding model review projects. The role also supports the public consultation processes for key IHACPA aged care documents and contribute to the development of IHACPA-wide documents, including the Three Year Data Plan, the Work Program and Corporate Plan, and the Annual Report. In this role, you will also be supporting the development of ministerial, board, committee and other papers and correspondence within timeframes determined by the IHACPA Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Director, Aged Care Policy. You will also support the development and review of policies, procedures and frameworks, and built and maintain strong relationship with internal and external candidates. The key duties of the position include Ability to develop and apply a sound understanding of IHACPA's operating environment, including relevant legislation, Australian Government policy settings and governance frameworks, to support high-quality policy and project outcomes. Demonstrated capability to interpret and apply complex legislative, policy and technical information to deliver robust, evidence-based policy advice and project outputs within agreed timeframes. Proven ability to plan, manage and deliver work program activities with a high level of independence and accountability, while working collaboratively and supporting continuous improvement. Experience contributing to the development of strategic policy initiatives through effective problem solving, analytical thinking and the application of professional judgement. Ability to respond effectively to change and uncertainty by managing competing priorities, identifying risks and making balanced, well-reasoned decisions in a dynamic policy environment. Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and high-quality written and verbal advice and tailor complex or technical information for diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal colleagues, committees and working groups, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, and broader sector stakeholders. Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent in social sciences, health, public policy or a related field, which would be well regarded, though not essential for appointment
