This is an opportunity to join the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority's (IHACPA) Aged Care Policy Branch and play a key role in shaping the future of aged care in Australia. In this role, you will support the Director, Aged Care Policy in delivering the aged care work program and related tasks as they arise. You will manage and support delivery of key aged care policy frameworks and projects, including the annual public consultation paper, pricing framework and report, pricing advice to the Minister, pricing model refinements, and funding model reviews. You will support the public consultation processes for key IHACPA documents and contribute to the development of agency-wide documents such as the Three Year Data Plan, Work Program, Corporate Plan, and Annual Report. You will prepare ministerial, board, and committee papers and correspondence within required timeframes determined by the IHACPA Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Director, Aged Care Policy. You will also develop and review policies, procedures, and frameworks to support IHACPA's functions, and build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The key duties of the position include Demonstrated expertise in IHACPA's operating environment, including its legislative functions, governance frameworks, and relevant Australian Government health and aged care policies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to complex policy and project work. Proven capability to lead and deliver complex policy and project initiatives, exercising sound judgement, accountability and autonomy to achieve high-quality outcomes in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment. Strong leadership skills, including providing effective oversight of work programs, coordinating staff and resources (where applicable), fostering collaboration, and embedding continuous improvement in planning and delivery. Demonstrated experience driving the development of strategic aged care pricing and policy advice, through rigorous problem solving and the interpretation and translation of complex legislation, government policy and technical information for diverse audiences. Ability to effectively navigate and implement change, managing risk and uncertainty while making balanced, evidence-based decisions aligned with organisational priorities. Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and with influence, producing high-quality written and verbal advice and tailoring complex information to meet the needs of senior executives, Ministers, stakeholders and the public. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain productive stakeholder relationships, engaging confidently with internal teams, committees and working groups, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, and broader sector stakeholders to support policy development and delivery. Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent in social sciences, health, public policy or a related field, which would be well regarded, though not essential for appointment.
