The Opportunity Working closely with senior leaders, including members of the SLT, this role takes ownership of delivering high‑quality, data‑driven insights that influence strategic decision‑making. As our Senior Data Analyst, you will analyse key drivers across sales, margin, and inventory, and translate complex datasets into clear, compelling insights that resonate at an executive level. Beyond analytics, you will enhance the systems, processes, and governance that underpin our Finance BI environment. This role is ideal for someone who brings rigor, structure, and a commercial mindset and who can confidently communicate analytical outcomes to the most senior stakeholders in the business. What You’ll do Deliver high‑quality reporting, analysis, and performance insights that influence strategic decisions at SLT level. Strengthen FP&A capability through accurate, reliable, and commercially relevant performance reporting. Lead enhancements to Finance systems, processes, and BI tools to improve data integrity and analytical efficiency. Ensure all reporting is responsive to the pace, complexity, and needs of a fast‑moving retail environment. Partner with senior Finance leaders and key business stakeholders, presenting clear, actionable insights that drive results. Analyse and surface key drivers of trading performance across sales, margin, inventory, and other core commercial metrics. Contribute to the design, optimisation, and governance of Finance analytics platforms and the broader BI environment. About You Extensive experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or management reporting, ideally within a complex or fast‑paced environment. Strong grasp of financial statements, commercial performance drivers, forecasting, and decision‑support analysis. Proven ability to interpret complex data, explain variance drivers with clarity, and deliver insights that shape senior‑level decision‑making. Confident working with Finance systems, BI tools, data models, and KPI/reporting frameworks, with the ability to challenge and improve them. Strong systems and data aptitude, with an ability to understand data flows, dependencies, and opportunities for process optimisation. Exceptional analytical thinking, structured communication, and attention to detail—capable of presenting insights to senior stakeholders and SLT.
