Description Create your best future and join Westpac as Associate, Commodities, Trade and Transition! What’s the role? You’ll support the newly established Commodities, Trade & Transition (CTT) team as they build and scale Westpac’s growing commodity and trade finance capability. This is a hands-on Associate role where you’ll help turn ideas into clear analysis, presentations and well-coordinated outcomes. Day to day, you’ll be involved in preparing executive and client materials, analysing markets and transactions, and supporting the delivery of financing and risk management solutions across commodities and trade. You’ll also work closely with teams across Risk, Credit, Legal, Technology and Business Controls to keep work moving and stakeholders aligned. This is a full-time role based in Sydney, offering exposure to senior leaders, clients and complex transactions in a fast‑moving environment. If you enjoy problem solving, learning by doing and being close to the action, you’ll feel right at home. What do I need? You’ll bring a strong foundation of core skills and the confidence to apply them in a fast‑moving, collaborative environment. You will have: Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, with the ability to produce polished materials for senior leaders and clients. Solid analytical and research capability, and confidence working with market, financial and client information. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex topics for different audiences. An organised, proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple pieces of work and follow through on details. A genuine interest in commodities, trade finance, derivatives or the energy transition, and curiosity to keep learning. Why join us?
