Susquehanna is looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Sydney team on a 12-month parental leave max term contract, with potential to extend as APAC continues to grow. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be part of an energetic and close-knit team supporting our Pan-Asian operations. You will build strong relationships with stakeholders both onshore and offshore and play a key role in the ongoing evolution of the accounting function. This role suits someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of delivering accurate outcomes to deadline, and is motivated by continuously improving how work gets done—through better tools, automation, and process improvement. What you’ll do: Own the end-to-end payment process, including preparing and processing EFT payment runs and one-off payments. Perform daily cash reporting and cash management activities. Download, code, and reconcile daily bank statements. Respond to vendor queries and proactively advise vendors of payment status. Manage cheque payments and international telegraphic transfers (TTs). Prepare legal and professional fee schedules and support related reporting requirements. Prepare audit confirmations and support ad hoc audit requests. Manage foreign currency (FX) reporting requirements. Coordinate funding re-wires from MLs for payroll and operating expenses. Maintain the Fixed Asset register and manage invoice filing and record-keeping. Post payments to the General Ledger and reconcile bank accounts. Review employee expense reimbursements, including receipt compliance and FX conversion calculations. Complete petty cash reconciliations. Set up and maintain vendor accounts in the General Ledger. Support the team with ad hoc tasks and continuous improvement initiatives, as required. Previous experience in a full-function Accounts Payable role (end-to-end AP processing, payments, and reconciliations). High attention to detail, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. High computer proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting/ERP systems is beneficial. Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence partnering with teams locally and offshore. Continuous improvement mindset—comfortable identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve controls, and increase automation.
