About the Role This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a graduate or junior administrator looking to build a career in retail merchandising. As a Merchandise Assistant, you’ll support the Category Manager and Group Buyer with the day-to-day coordination of products, promotions and stock across a national store network. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to buying, pricing, promotions and stock management while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team. No two days will be the same, making this a great role for someone who enjoys organisation, problem-solving and working in a fast-paced retail environment. What Will You Do? Support the Category Manager and Group Buyer with general administration and reporting tasks. Assist with costing sheets, order creation and tracking stock from supplier to store. Help ensure promotional and advertised products are ordered and delivered on time. Action price updates, promotions and product changes in internal systems. Assist with stock management activities including range updates and obsolete stock reviews. Maintain accurate product records, buying samples and store data. Respond to queries from stores and suppliers, providing friendly and timely support. Assist with ad hoc projects and daily stock replenishment tasks. What Skills and Experience Do You Need? Previous experience in a retail environment is advantageous, but not essential. Intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and Outlook. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. A positive, proactive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team. A qualification in business, commerce, retail or a related field is beneficial, but not required.
