The Opportunity As a full-time Financial Accountant , you’ll support our progressive and authentic firm as we champion what’s right. Reporting to the Finance Manager and based from our Brisbane CBD head office, you’ll be a key contributor to monthly and annual financial reporting, preparing end-of-month entries, daily accounting tasks and key account reconciliations for Shine Lawyers and its brands. Covering 12 months of extended leave, this is an ideal opportunity for a CA or CPA qualified accountant who wants to learn and grow alongside a team of experienced, supportive financial accountants. Please also note that although this role is a full-time role, we are open to discussions around either a part-time or flexible work arrangement, in the equivalent of minimum 4 days per week, for the right candidate with relevant experience. Here’s how you’ll help us stay ahead of the pack: Partnering with the Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller to deliver month-end, half-year and full-year financial reporting, including statutory accounts. Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations across the Shine Group, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment to supporting documentation. Coordinating and supporting audit processes, including liaising with external auditors and preparing supporting work papers. Supporting group tax and FBT obligations, including FBT reviews and assisting with annual returns in conjunction with tax advisors. Reviewing IT and Marketing spend against budget, working closely with stakeholders to provide timely and meaningful cost insights. Managing fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, depreciation, asset registers, and capital project reporting. Assisting with capital projects, equipment financing, and leasing arrangements. Ensuring group accounting consistency by supporting subsidiary business units to align with group accounting policies and processes. Identifying and driving continuous improvement in accounting processes and documentation. What you’ll bring To thrive in this role, you will have: Completed your business degree (or equivalent) Completed CA or CPA qualification Demonstrated experience in a similar role (e.g. finance assistant, accounting officer, etc.) Strong stakeholder management skills Exposure to working within an ASX-listed environment or a large multinational subsidiary is highly advantageous but not essential for success Exposure to working in a professional services firm desirable Experience working with foreign exchange is advantageous but not essential for success Auditing experience is advantageous but not essential for success Strong MS Excel skills Deadline driven with a strong attention to detail Ability to work autonomously, and strong willingness to learn Shine Lawyers: A place for you.
