The Role We are seeking a skilled and reliable Irrigation Hand to support irrigation operations on an almond farm in Hillston, NSW. This is a practical, hands-on role in agriculture, working outdoors in a busy farm environment alongside an experienced irrigation team. You'll assist with repairs, installs, headland checks and routine maintenance to keep water systems running efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities You'll play a key part in keeping irrigation systems operating smoothly across the farm. This role supports day-to-day performance, reliability and water efficiency through repairs, checks and maintenance. Assist with installation of irrigation systems (piping, valves, timers and sprinkler heads) Diagnose and repair broken or malfunctioning irrigation equipment Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance Adjust systems to improve water coverage and efficiency Support programming and troubleshooting of irrigation controllers (manual and automated systems) Complete headland checks, including driving a mule as required Mix and apply fertilisers as directed, following safety and chemical handling requirements Keep records of work completed and materials used Follow workplace safety procedures and environmental guidelines Benefits $31.18 per hour penalty rates Potential ongoing opportunity for the right person 30-40 hours per week with consistent work on-farm Great opportunity to grow your irrigation and fertigation experience in almonds Work as part of a reliable, safety-focused team in a hands-on outdoor role Your Skills & Experience Valid Chemical Certificate (required) Experience working with irrigation repairs and/or installation (drip/sprinkler systems) Strong practical skills and confidence using hand tools and basic equipment Understanding of water management and efficient system operation Telehandler experience is highly regarded Good attention to detail, problem-solving skills and a reliable work ethic Willingness to work outdoors and follow safety procedures at all times Choose Agri Labour Australia Agri Labour Australia is an award-winning Australian company with clients in every State and Territory.
