The Role While specific roles may vary, successful candidates could be involved in: Providing expert WHS policy, technical, and operational advice Monitoring and supporting compliance with WHS legislation and regulations Leading investigations into incidents, hazards, and near-misses Engaging with regulators and managing mandatory notifications Embedding WHS practices into systems, policies, and operational processes Advising leadership on risk mitigation and emerging safety issues The Ideal Person You are an experienced WHS professional with demonstrated government experience and a strong understanding of operating within legislative, policy, and governance frameworks. You bring deep technical knowledge across WHS risk management, including asbestos, auditing, biological hazards, construction and demolition, electrical hazards, high-risk work, plant and equipment, noise, hazardous chemicals, and psychosocial risk. You are proactive, collaborative, and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, translating complex risk into clear, practical advice. A Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent) is required.
