About The Role As a Counsellor within the Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Service, you’ll provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, counselling, and case coordination for victims of domestic violence and their non-offending family members. You’ll work collaboratively with health professionals, NSW Police, and community agencies to ensure clients receive the care they need, when they need it. Your Responsibilities Will Include Delivering crisis assessment and counselling interventions. Participating in Domestic Violence Safety Action Meetings and interagency collaboration. Providing outreach services and hospital in-reach support. Joining the VANS on-call roster for crisis response, including after-hours and weekends. Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service improvement. What We’re Looking For An Australian recognised degree qualification in Social Work or Psychology, or a relevant health qualification and registration of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or membership with Australian peak body eg AASW / ACA or eligibility for membership, please upload evidence. Experience in trauma-informed counselling and crisis intervention. Strong understanding of domestic violence and child protection frameworks. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
