The Role Based in Canberra and reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of subcontract and procurement administration across the full project lifecycle — from tender evaluations and package letting through to subcontract administration, variations, claims management and cost reporting during construction. You will work closely with operations, procurement and JV stakeholders to ensure financial commitments align with approved budgets, contractual positions are protected, and supply chain performance delivers optimal commercial outcomes. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables Tender Stage: Facilitate tender evaluations and prepare evaluation reports for low-risk contracts Review subcontractor and supplier pricing, prepare comparison sheets and recommendations Support drafting of subcontracts, purchase orders and consultancy agreements Negotiate competitive pricing and commercial terms Prepare schedules of quantities, cost breakdowns and procurement timeframes Contribute to green costing, lifecycle costing and carbon considerations in procurement decisions Construction Stage: Administer subcontractor and supplier appointments Maintain variation, delay and claims registers and support formal claim preparation Monitor progress against budget and report on commercial performance Prepare contractual correspondence and notices to protect the company's position Coordinate procurement logistics and maintain up-to-date supplier registers Work closely with site teams to manage day-to-day commercial activities What We Are Looking For Min. 3 years' experience in contract administration, commercial or procurement roles within construction/infrastructure Relevant tertiary qualification in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying or similar Strong understanding of subcontract management and commercial processes Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and meet demanding deadlines Highly organised with strong analytical and negotiation skills Comfortable engaging with clients, JV partners and internal stakeholders Proficient in document management systems such as SharePoint Resilient, detail-oriented and confident operating in a fast-paced project environment What's on Offer AUD130,000 – 140,000 Super, depending on experience Flexible working model with a balanced mix of office, site and WFH Long-term project stability on a nationally significant public infrastructure program Clear pathways to progress into Senior CA or Commercial roles Exposure to complex contract structures within a disciplined JV environment A collaborative, high-performance culture where accountability and autonomy are valued
