The Strategic Youth Project Lead reports to the Senior Youth Engagement Officer. The Lead's work focuses on ensuring the views and lived experiences of children and young people are sought, heard and acted on. Working with children and young people and across the Commission, the Lead facilitates opportunities for children and young people to be involved in and influence the work of the Commission. The Lead mentors and supports the development of Youth Engagement Project Officers and members of the in advocating for system improvements and supports their immersion in Commission projects. Working strategically with the Senior Youth Engagement Officer the Lead embeds the Commission's Child and Youth Engagement Framework across all areas of the Commission and develops innovative opportunities to connect with children and young people from a range of backgrounds and experiences and enhance their influence across the organisation. This is a special measures role under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 and only people aged between 18 to 25 years are eligible to apply, as per the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 In this role you will: Provide support and strategic advice across the Commission on various projects and issues providing a strategic lens from young people's perspective. Work with staff and leadership to embed child and youth engagement and participation across the organisation, underpinned by the Commission's Child and Youth Engagement Framework. Drive innovation in child and youth engagement and participation, developing new and inventive ways for the Commission to connect with more children and young people. Oversee and participate the planning, preparation and facilitation of Youth Council meetings and be a point of contact and support for Youth Council members. Mentor and provide coaching and development support to Youth Engagement Project Officers. Organise, schedule and set up stakeholder meetings, including the preparation of materials and equipment when required (internal and external). Contribute to the preparation and delivery of project plans, briefings, presentations, reports and correspondence. Contribute to the preparation and delivery of social media plans and content. Actively contribute to the development of a positive and high-performing team culture, including identifying and implementing opportunities to improve teamwork practices Assist with any other project issues and tasks as required.
