Introduction The People & Culture Generalist is responsible for delivering end-to-end HR support to the Perth campus, with a strong focus on recruitment, employee lifecycle management, and practical HR advice to managers. The People & Culture Generalist partners closely with leaders to support effective people management, ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation and awards, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting day-to-day operations while contributing to broader people initiatives across the organisation. Description Main duties include: Oversee end-to-end recruitment for the Perth campus and other locations where needed, including workforce planning support, advertising, shortlisting, coordinating interviews, reference checks, offers, and employment contracts. Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a positive employee experience and compliance with internal processes and legislative requirements. Provide practical HR advice, coaching, and support to managers on day-to-day people matters, including performance management, conduct, absenteeism, disciplinary matters, and grievances. Oversee EIT’s staff performance management processes, including providing expert guidance to line managers on performance improvement plans, probation reviews, and outcomes. Ensure EIT policies, procedures, and employment practices comply with Australian employment legislation, relevant awards, and best practice, and assist with policy review and implementation as required. Liaise closely with payroll regarding timesheets, awards interpretation, leave requests, contract changes, and employee data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in relevant systems. Support positive workplace culture initiatives, including assisting with the organisation of staff engagement and social events. Provide support to the People & Culture Manager on broader HR initiatives, projects, reporting, and continuous improvement activities as required. Occasional travel to Brisbane and Melbourne Campus Skills And Experiences Essential Requirements Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role Tertiary qualification in Human Resources Exceptional communication, collaboration, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Able to work effectively with staff from all levels of the organisation with maturity and diplomacy. Broad knowledge of HR practices. Strong administrative and time management skills. Knowledge of the National Employment System and Modern Awards. Ability to work independently and make informed decisions. Desirable Knowledge of the Tertiary Education Sector. Experience with ELMO or similar HRIS
