The role will own and drive the transformation of our finance reporting and play a critical role in facilitating team AI readiness. In this newly created role, you’ll be reporting directly to the Head of AU Retail Finance. You will be responsible for building the data and reporting foundation that will enable the team to become exceptional business partners, by reducing hours spent on data controllership and reporting. You'll play a pivotal role in transitioning our finance reporting to best in class through automation, centralized reporting, and integration with worldwide AI and automation initiatives. The successful candidate will combine strong business intelligence and data engineering capabilities with retail/commercial finance expertise. Key job responsibilities Reporting Automation & Data Controllership • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive reporting automation pipeline to establish "one source of truth" for retail finance reporting across P&L, controllership, deals management, and business commentary • Drive standardization of finance reporting and BI tools across the retail finance function, adopting and sharing best practices from other Amazon marketplaces worldwide • Work with worldwide project teams to develop and integrate AI/ML tools and capabilities that enhance financial analysis, forecasting accuracy, and decision-making speed System, Data Governance & Accuracy • Establish and maintain data controllership to AU Retail finance profitability reporting and estimate accuracy • Conduct comprehensive analysis of WW reporting systems, tools, and processes used by other marketplaces to identify gaps and opportunities for AU retail finance Business Partnership and Insights • Support commercial decision-making through development of processes, analytical tools, and dashboards that provide actionable insights on pricing, promotion, inventory, and vendor performance • Provide ad-hoc analytical support and deep-dive analyses to address critical business questions - 5 years of experience in finance, business intelligence, or data analytics roles - Advanced SQL skills for data mining, transformation, and business intelligence Proven experience developing and maintaining dashboards and visualizations in Tableau, PowerBI, or QuickSight - Demonstrated experience in creating process improvements through automation and analysis - Experience building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making - Strong track record of identifying data quality issues, determining root causes, and implementing solutions - Ability to work independently on complex problems while managing multiple stakeholder priorities - MBA, CPA, or CA qualification - Experience with cube engine tools (e.g., TM1, Cognos, Essbase) and data warehouse concepts - Proficiency with Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis and automation - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards) Knowledge of AWS data services (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda) and cloud-based analytics platforms - Experience leading cross-functional projects involving finance, IT, and business stakeholders - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management frameworks - Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth retail or e-commerce environments - 3 years of retail, commercial, or product finance experience with exposure to P&L management, vendor negotiations, pricing, or inventory management Acknowledgement of country: In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
