About the Role The Planning and Housing team is seeking to fill multiple full time Associate Director, Policy roles: 1x Temporary up to 30 June 2026 1x Temporary up to 12 September 2026 (parental leave backfill with potential for extension) As an Associate Director, Policy , you will lead the development of strategic policy and oversee complex projects that shape th future of planning and housing in NSW. You will provide high-level, evidence-based advice to the Premier and Executive, anticipate emerging issues, and drive major reforms that deliver tangible outcomes for com munities. Working at the heart of government within the Planning & Housing Branch in the Economic, Housing & Infrastructure Policy (EHIP) Group, you will collaborate across agencies and stakeholders to influence decisions that matter. Expect to lead innovative policy solutions, manage priority projects, and contribute to shaping long-term strategies for housing and planning in NSW. We're Looking For Strategic Leadership: Extensive experience leading complex policy projects, service delivery reforms, or major initiatives that inform government directions and deliver tangible outcomes Policy Expertise: Proven ability to manage all aspects of the policy process including research, development, review, and evaluation - across cross-portfolio and intergovernmental matters Project Delivery: Experience in planning, managing, and reporting on priority projects, including monitoring implementation, resolving issues, and ensuring alignment with government objectives. Analytical Thinking: Strong skills in critically analysing complex issues, preparing high-level advice, and developing innovative solutions that respond to emerging trends and challenges Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated success in building effective relationships and facilitating consultation with government, industry, and community stakeholders to shape policy and project outcomes Professional Qualifications: Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience and training relevant to policy development and project leadership.
