Do you feel the call to adventure? To embark on a daily expedition to uncover the one bug hiding behind the third lever you definitely weren’t supposed to pull? To break everything in a game, so that our players don't have to? As a Senior Embedded QA Tester , you will serve as the critical quality link between the Infinity Plus Two (IP2) game development team in Australia and the 505 Games Publishing QA team in the UK. You will be embedded directly with Production and Engineering, moving testing "upstream" to catch issues before they leave the studio. You are expected to provide a strong "QA Presence" within the studio - championing quality in daily stand-ups, supporting engineers with real-time feedback, and acting as the primary communication bridge to ensure that 505 Internal QA and External QA partners are aligned with the development reality. This is a full-time on-site position , with 5 days per week in our Collins St, Melbourne office . We are not taking international applications at this time. About the role: Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Validate new features, mechanics, and fixes directly in the development environment/editor before they are merged into the main branch Partner with developers to provide immediate reproduction steps, logs, and investigation support for complex issues Attend IP2 daily stand-ups and planning meetings to represent QA interests, flagging potential risks or scope creep immediately Manage local hardware compatibility testing (iOS/Android/Console) within the studio to ensure "works on my machine" isn't the only standard Compile and transmit a "Daily Handoff" report to the UK F2P QA Team, detailing what changed during the AUS day, known issues, and focus areas for the UK morning shift Help translate complex technical changes from IP2 engineers into understandable testing instructions for 505 Internal and External QA teams Create, maintain, and share ownership of the "Action Plans" and TestRail suites for upcoming features, ensuring they are ready before the build reaches the publishing QA phase together with 505 QA Leads and Testers Act as the first line of defence for the IP2 database; review bugs reported by External/Internal QA to ensure they are valid, well-documented, and correctly prioritized before devs see them Execute specialized checks for Monetization (IAP flow), Analytics (Telemetry triggers), and LiveOps event configuration Serve as the "Unblocker" for 505 and External QA vendors; when they have questions about design intent or blocked progression, you provide the answers from the dev team. Other: In addition to your normal duties, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time Ability to travel domestically and internationally About you: Qualifications and Experience: 3 years of QA experience. It's a definite bonus if you have experience with Freemium/F2P mobile titles Extensive expertise in testing iOS and Android ecosystems (including OS-specific guidelines, and hardware constraints) Proven experience working with console development kits (Xbox/PlayStation) and associated testing tools Good experience in JIRA (including dashboard creation/querying) and TestRail (Suite management) Familiarity with Apple/Google Technical Requirements and Console TRC/XR guidelines Deep understanding of LiveOps mechanics, Monetization loops, and User Acquisition/Analytics terminologies Previous experience working in a distributed development environment (working with off-site or external QA teams) Key Competencies: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision (due to time zone differences with the QA manager) Capable of navigating the relationship between "Development" and "Publishing," ensuring bugs are pushed for without damaging team relationships Can translate "Dev Speak" into "QA Speak" and vice versa clearly and concisely Please attach a cover letter to your application telling us a bit about yourself, the games you like, and how you think you'd fit with us in this role. We ask that you do not use ChatGPT or other LLMs to write this letter. We know writing isn't everyone's strong suit, and that's okay. We'd just like to get to know you!
