Position overview Employment Type: Permanent full time (80 hours per fortnight) including a monthly ADO Location: Warrnambool Classification: Social Worker Grade 2 Salary Range: $90,235.60 - $103,724.40 pro rata, plus superannuation About the role South West Healthcare's (SWH) South Western Centre Against Sexual Assault (SWCASA) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals to join our growing Intake Team. Our SWCASA team provides specialised counselling to children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual assault or family violence, and to their non-offending family or support networks. We also provide intervention and support to children and young people who engage in harmful sexual behaviour. As an intake Counsellor/Advocate, you will provide compassionate, trauma-informed first contact support to victim-survivors. This role requires you to conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments, deliver crisis intervention, and facilitate safe and supported pathways into counselling, advocacy and case management programs. Working collaboratively with a team of highly skilled and experienced Counsellor/Advocates, you will contribute to responsive service delivery, accurate documentation and data collection, and continuous quality improvement as the service continues to expand to meet increasing community demand. You will maintain strong professional boundaries, uphold confidentiality, and align your practice with relevant legislation, practice standards and trauma-informed frameworks. Applicants with experience in group facilitation and/or brief intervention are strongly encouraged to apply. What you bring With a tertiary qualification in social work or equivalent, you will have experience in delivering therapeutic interventions, case management and risk assessments. With a comprehensive understanding of the issues relating to sexual assault and family violence within a gendered context, you will have significant knowledge and expertise in working therapeutically with children, young people and adults within a trauma informed framework. The successful applicant will have excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work autonomously and within a team.
