Position: Carer Peer Support Worker - Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Services Employment Type: Part Time (48 hours per fortnight), On-going Location: Warrnambool Campus (with regional travel and community outreach) Classification: Lived Experience Worker Level 1 or 2 (dependent on experience) Salary Range: $62,082.20 - $73,065.20 pro rata, plus superannuation About the role South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a passionate and values-driven Carer Peer Support Worker to join our Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Service. This is a lived experience role for someone who personally understands the journey of supporting an older person with mental health challenges. Drawing on your experience as a family member, carer, or loved one, you will provide meaningful peer support to families and carers, helping them feel heard, informed, empowered, and connected. You will work as part of the Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Service and the broader Lived & Living Experience Workforce, contributing your unique perspective as an equal and valued member of the multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will: Provide peer support and guidance to families and carers Identify and coordinate carer wellbeing needs Connect families to services and resources Co-facilitate group and individual education and support sessions Support carer involvement in care planning Contribute to service development and improvement Participate in supervision and reflective practice What you Bring You bring more than skills - you bring lived experience, empathy and insight.
