Network & Systems Engineer 6-Month Contract | Extension Possibility (to 12 months) $700 - $800 per day (inclusive of super) Melbourne | Hybrid The Opportunity Talenza is partnering with an innovative technology organisation to appoint a Network & Systems Engineer to support critical infrastructure and cloud services across a complex enterprise environment. This role will suit a technically strong engineer who enjoys working across cloud, infrastructure, networking, and security domains - balancing project delivery with operational support. The Role As a Systems Engineer, you will help design, implement and maintain reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure services across both on-premise and multi-cloud environments. Working closely with Architecture, Cyber Security, SRE and broader Technology teams, you will contribute to the ongoing uplift of cloud capability while ensuring operational stability and governance alignment. Key Responsibilities Engineer and support infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure and GCP Maintain and optimise Linux-based environments Support cloud and on-prem platforms to ensure performance, availability and security Contribute to automation initiatives using tools such as Ansible and scripting (PowerShell or similar) Support CI/CD integrations across infrastructure environments Administer PKI environments and manage certificate lifecycle processes Provide Level 2/3 technical support and incident resolution Monitor infrastructure health and proactively address risks Partner with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues You Background in IT, Systems Engineering or similar discipline (or equivalent commercial experience) Strong hands-on experience across public cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) Solid Linux/Unix administration capability Exposure to containerisation and virtualisation technologies Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing protocols, VLANs) Experience supporting core network services such as DNS, DHCP and VPN Understanding of cloud security controls and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO, SOC, NIST) Benefits Competitive day rate: $700 - $800 a day inclusive Possibility of ongoing work beyond initial term Exposure to modern cloud environments Hybrid working model Opportunity to contribute to meaningful infrastructure uplift
