Our client is currently seeking an AI Governance Advisor to complete FAIRA assessments for AI enabled applications and tools in use across their organisation. In this role you will also support the establishment and ongoing execution of an AI Governance Committee, establish scalable monitoring and reporting related to AI governance requirements and build a toolkit for business users across the organisation to use in the application of the governance framework for their AI initiatives. As the AI Governance Advisor, you will: Coordinate, author, and quality assure FAIRA assessments on applications and tools in use across the organisation - integrating with privacy, security and ethics subject matter experts, and liaise with solution and/or platform owners for approvals. Support work to engage a partner to design and implement an enterprise-wide AI governance framework (including relevant policies and standards) to ensure compliance with all relevant Australian Federal Government and State Government policies and standards (including QGEA and Information Privacy Act). Establish scalable AI monitoring and reporting that support both foundational controls (model use, cost, benefit) and advanced oversight (model monitoring, drift and performance and incident reporting). Support the establishment of an AI Governance committee to guide the use of AI within the organisation. Translate governance requirements into practical playbooks, processes, templates and guidance for teams, including running targeted coaching or education sessions. Conduct supplier-due diligence for AI capabilities including how data is handled within tools or applications, security attestations and model governance. What you’ll bring to the role: Demonstrated experience establishing and/or operating AI governance in complex organisations, including risk and ethics integration, assurance, and audit readiness. Expert knowledge of public sector frameworks and standards applicable to AI (e.g., QGEA/IS18, Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld), Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), AI Ethics principles; ISO 42001/23894/38507).
