Role details The Strategic Finance Team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Manager (Management Accounting) to join their team on a temporary basis. Your opportunity Provide strategic leadership and authoritative professional advice to the Director - Strategic Finance and the Executive Director Corporate Services, Executive Leadership team and senior management within the organisation with respect to financial management performance. Support the Director - Strategic Finance and the Executive Director Corporate Services in assessing the current and forecasted financial position of Mackay HHS through applying contemporary best practice budget processes and business analysis techniques. Manage the Mackay HHS budget system and processes, provide advice as to specific allocations, and monitor and report on the ongoing budget performance of business units. Support the annual negotiation process with the Department of Health, provide analysis and advice so as to maximise revenue streams available. Contribute to the achievement of quality outcomes in the services provided by the Finance Unit through continuous improvement practices, the use of contemporary financial performance analysis tools and processes such as benchmarking and analysis of related datasets. About the Team The Strategic Finance Team consists of Management Accounting and Activity Based Management. The broader Finance Team consists of Financial Accounting, Revenue and Assets. The teams provide routine and ad-hoc information, analysis and advise to various stakeholders such as the Executive, service directors, business managers and clinicians. The Manager Management Accounting reports directly to the Director - Strategic Finance and supervises the Management Accounting Team. This position holds financial delegation for expenditure of up to $150,000.
