The outcome for the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman (the Office) is fair and accountable administrative action by Australian Government entities and prescribed private sector organisations, by investigating complaints, reviewing administrative actions and statutory compliance inspections and reporting. They achieve this through complaint handling, conducting investigations, conducting visits and inspections, encouraging good public administration practices, and administering a specialist redress scheme. The Opportunity This is an opportunity to work support a Band 1, and an interstate-based Band 2, providing exemplary executive support. Career development opportunity Parental leave cover – initial 12-month contract Central location – WFH options The Role Reporting to a Band 1 and a Band 2, your key duties will be: Prepare correspondence, including minutes, letters and other written material Manage and organise the diary, travel and appointments Assist with travel and meetings for other academy staff Liaise with other areas of the department and external stakeholders Manage office systems and records using MS Office, SAP and TRIM Provide support for project and research work Undertake administration and coordination tasks for the wider administration staff The Ideal Person You will be friendly and influential with the ability to confidently liaise across senior staff and external bodies. You will need to be up for a challenge, with the ability to work across competing deadlines and provide support to multiple areas at once. Your time management and organisation skills will be paramount in this role. In addition, you will be able to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment and be adaptive to change. You must be able to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance and have previous experience as an Executive Assistant in the APS or private sector to be considered.
