Eden Ritchie Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a high-performing corporate finance team supporting whole-of-department financial governance, compliance and reporting. In this role, you will provide expert financial accounting advice, contribute to financial statement preparation and strengthen internal controls and assurance activities across the organisation. Key responsibilities Monitor and strengthen internal controls, finance systems and assurance activities Provide expert advice to resolve internal and external audit matters Support the preparation of financial statements and end-of-month / end-of-year processes Prepare journals and conduct complex reconciliations across general ledgers Maintain financial policies, procedures and financial delegations Contribute to CFO assurance activities and financial governance initiatives Provide financial management advice to stakeholders across the organisation Assist with financial accounting training and capability development Support system upgrades, enhancements and testing of financial systems Contribute to continuous improvement of financial management practices About you Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, compliance and governance Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, audit requirements and legislation Experience preparing journals, reconciliations and financial statements Ability to develop and maintain financial policies and procedures Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills Experience supporting system upgrades and process improvements is highly regarded Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Business is desirable CPA/CA (or working towards) is highly regarded This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to strong financial governance and assurance within a collaborative government environment.
