About Mallee CMA Mallee Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is a Victorian Government statutory authority. About the opportunity As the Coordinator of Environmental Water Delivery, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering environmental water to high value floodplains, wetlands, and river systems across the Mallee region. This position provides an exciting opportunity to lead a specialist team and work across major programs including the Mallee Environmental Watering Program and The Living Murray (TLM) initiative. This is a permanent position up to 1.0 FTE, with a salary of $100,000 plus superannuation, based on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities In this hands-on coordination and leadership role, you will: Lead the development of Seasonal Watering Plans and associated monitoring programs. Identify emerging knowledge needs and apply continuous improvement to delivery practices. Manage contracts, budgets, reporting, and high-level program documentation. Oversee the day-to-day work of a dedicated environmental water team. Build strong relationships with key partners including DEECA, MDBA, SA Water, Parks Victoria, Water Authorities, and community stakeholders. Represent the CMA in engagement activities, sharing the value and outcomes of environmental watering with the public. About you We are looking for a motivated leader and environmental professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced, and purpose-driven environment. You combine strong scientific understanding with operational execution and an inclusive leadership style. To succeed in this role, you will bring: Technical & Professional Expertise A degree in science, environmental management, ecology, NRM, or a related field. 5 years' experience in environmental program management or similar roles. Strong knowledge of waterway ecology, particularly floodplains, wetlands, and rivers. Experience preparing high‑level documents such as Seasonal Watering Plans, reports, and funding proposals. Demonstrated capability in contract and project management, including budget oversight. Leadership & Interpersonal Skills A collaborative, supportive leadership approach that brings out the best in a team. Ability to build trust with community members, partners, and stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating complex environmental information into meaningful insights.
