At K-Drive, our Welder Fabricators play a key role in building, repairing, and maintaining high-quality metal components for heavy vehicles, trailers, and transport equipment. This role is hands-on and requires the ability to read and interpret drawings, cut and shape steel, perform welding tasks, and assemble components to meet K-Drive's standards of safety, reliability, and durability. The role: 6.00am-4.00pm $45ph penalty (1.5hrs) Free onsite parking Monday to Friday Modern workshop New custom builds Duties: Fabricate and assemble metal components for trucks, trailers, and transport equipment. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work orders. Perform cutting, bending, grinding, and shaping of steel and other metals. Carry out MIG, TIG, and arc welding to industry and company standards. Inspect, repair, and reinforce transport equipment and trailer components. Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with tolerances and specifications. Maintain fabrication and welding equipment in safe working order. Work collaboratively with workshop staff to meet project deadlines. Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures. Undertake general housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe workshop environment. Complete other duties as directed to support operational requirements. The requirements: Trade qualification in Metal Fabrication, Boilermaking or equivalent. Experience interpreting drawings, specifications, and technical instructions. Background in heavy vehicle, trailer, or transport equipment fabrication/repairs Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and various welding techniques. Ability to fabricate, cut, bend, and shape steel with accuracy. Skilled in operating fabrication tools and machinery (e.g., plasma cutters, guillotines, presses, grinders, drills). Competence in carrying out quality checks and ensuring dimensional accuracy. Knowledge of safe work practices and equipment care. Relevant welding certifications - MIG, TIG, Stick (Advantageous). Forklift and/or gantry crane operating license (Advantageous).
