About the role Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for an experienced Production Manager to lead and coordinate workshop operations in a busy fabrication environment. We require a natural leader to guide an existing and long serving team in a busy manufacturing environment, manage workshop throughput and drive workshop efficiency. Working alongside the workshop foreman and general manager, the successful candidate will complete the leadership team of our clients highly successful and well respected commercial vehicle attachment business. Duties Lead, manage, and support the workshop team with a strong focus on efficiency, accountability, and output. Monitor team performance and identify opportunities to improve workflow and job turnaround times · Review job sheets ahead of schedule to assess feasibility, identify obstacles, and confirm materials and resources are available Investigate delays or overruns on jobs, understand root causes, and implement corrective actions · Oversee stock control, including monitoring stock levels, preparing material lists, and ordering as required Maintain and update cutting lists, stock reports, and efficiency data using Excel and internal systems · Work closely between the office and workshop to ensure clear communication and execution Support the introduction of new equipment, including understanding CNC milling processes and assisting the team through change Provide clear verbal and written guidance to the team, particularly around commercial truck body work and fabrication standards Help introduce structure, systems, and basic performance measures into what is currently a flexible, informal environment Skills and experience Proven experience leading or supervising teams in a workshop, manufacturing, or trade-based environment Strong people management skills with the ability to drive efficiency without disrupting a loyal, long-tenured team Intermediate Excel skills, including setting up lists, basic reporting, and working with stock data Exposure to CNC machinery or manufacturing equipment (hands-on operation not required, but understanding is essential) Background in fabrication, welding, or commercial vehicle bodies highly regarded, including the ability to assess quality and processes Practical, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to identify why jobs run over time and fix the issue Patient and clear communicator, able to explain processes and reasoning to a diverse workforce Self-motivated, mature, and comfortable working in a business that is growing and evolving its systems Willingness to split time between office-based work and the workshop floor Benefits Family-friendly hours Competitive salary package Casual, flexible workplace with a supportive culture Loyal, long-tenured team and a good crew already in place How to Apply If you are interested in joining a successful business for this fantastic full-time position, please send us your resume today.
