We're looking for hands-on and customer-focused Field Service Mechanics to maintain and repair a wide range of diesel, petrol, and electric-powered equipment, on-site and in-branch. We have two distinct field-based positions available: Field Service Mechanic - Earthmoving & Compaction - Working on excavators, loaders, dump trucks, rollers and compaction equipment. Field Service Mechanic - Power & Distribution - Working on Generators, Inverters, Distribution Boards and Hybrid power systems What you'll do: You'll be out on-site, diagnosing issues, fixing problems and keeping customers moving. Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out on-site servicing, repairs and maintenance across mobile plant and equipment Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel faults Dismantling, repairing and rebuilding engines, pumps, hydraulic systems and components Performing scheduled and preventative maintenance in line with safety and environmental standards Completing pre-hire and post-hire inspections to ensure all equipment is Ready for Hire Ensuring all work meets Kennards Hire Quality Operational Management and compliance standards Accurately completing service records, defect reports and job documentation Responding to breakdowns and prioritising jobs to minimise customer downtime Working safely at all times and adhering to WHS procedures Representing the Kennards Hire brand with professionalism, confidence and pride during customer interactions About you Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle / Diesel / Plant / Mechanical Fitter (or similar) Experience working on earthmoving & compaction or power equipment Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability Ability to work autonomously in a field-based environment Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset Current driver's licence Why You'll Love Working with Kennards Hire Kennards Hire has been family-owned since 1948, and that family mindset still drives how we work today.
