We have an exciting opportunity for a senior SAP leader to join our team and oversee Queensland Rail’s SAP systems, ensuring reliable and efficient operations. Your opportunity We are seeking an experienced leader as Manager SAP Applications. In this role, you will oversee the operational performance and ongoing improvement of our SAP environment. You will manage the end-to-end performance of our SAP systems - both on premise and in cloud – guiding system enhancements, resolving complex technical issues, and leading a blended team of in-house and outsourced SAP specialists. Acting as the key liaison between technical experts and business stakeholders, you will ensure clear communication and delivery of high-quality outcomes. This position is accountable for strategic planning, project and change management, and the delivery of reliable system performance that supports critical business functions across the organisation. Reporting to the Group Senior Manager ICT Operations and Service Management, you will play a central role in delivering SAP solutions that align with business needs. To succeed, you will bring resilience, adaptability, and a hands-on approach to achieving results. Key responsibilities include: Plan and coordinate resources for SAP-related services while ensuring ongoing capability development. Manage the whole SAP ecosystem (ECC, BTP, Success Factors, etc.) Manage service delivery outcomes through IT Service Management disciplines. Lead and develop a team, fostering capability growth and a culture focused on delivering value. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, actively participating in governance forums. Collaborate with Solution and Technical Architects to manage the full lifecycle of SAP applications, including cloud releases. Support budget planning and ensure compliance with SAP operational and capital expenditure requirements. What we’re looking for 10-15 years in SAP applications with proven leadership experience within complex IT environments. Functional and technical hands-on SAP ECC experience is essential; exposure to S/4 HANA is highly regarded. Experience providing support across the SAP suite, such as SuccessFactors and MM. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively across diverse business areas are essential.
