Purpose of the Role BGIS is seeking multiple Maintenance Officers to deliver preventative and reactive maintenance across a high-profile waterfront venue. You will work on a rotating 4-week roster, carrying out general maintenance including air conditioning, plumbing, tiling, carpentry, painting, and other tasks as required. This role ensures operational excellence, compliance, and a safe, well-maintained environment for staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will be: Organised, proactive, and hands-on, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. Experience in complex or high-profile settings, such as defence, corrections, or large-scale public venues, is highly regarded. Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach are essential. Key Responsibilities - Undertake preventive and reactive maintenance across building systems and infrastructure. - Support Facilities Managers and Supervisors in the efficient delivery of services. - Maintain accurate records and reporting in BGIS systems. - Direct and monitor sub-contractors when required. - Participate in on-call and rostered shifts to ensure full coverage. - Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency. Qualifications & Experience Essential: - High School Certificate or equivalent - Experience in building/facilities management or maintenance environments - Knowledge of QA, OH&S, and environmental systems - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Flexible and adaptable approach to work tasks Desirable: - Electrical or relevant trade qualification (TAFE or equivalent) - Experience in PPP, retail, or commercial building maintenance - Skills in plumbing, painting, tiling, carpentry, and general repairs - EWP Ticket and current driver's license Workplace Flexibility This is a full-time, on-site role based at the Djilang (Geelong) Waterfront which is easily accessible by public transport. Shift Patterns - Rotating Roster: All Maintenance Officers will rotate through the following 4-week schedule, providing variety and balanced work-life opportunities: - Week 1 Monday-Tuesday 6am to 4pm, Friday-Sunday 2pm to Midnight - Week 2 Wednesday-Friday 6am to 4pm - Week 3 Monday-Wednesday 2pm to Midnight, Saturday-Sunday 6am to 4pm - Week 4 Monday 6am to 4pm, Thursday 2pm to Midnight, Friday 10am to 8pm Each rotation ensures coverage across mornings, afternoons, and weekends, giving staff variety and structured time off.
