The Thredbo wastewater treatment plant (WTP) treats all wastewater from Thredbo Village. The system is largely a gravity system whereby wastewater flows from the various properties to the WTP via the wastewater collection system with three small pump stations in the system. The WTP is a tertiary “activated sludge” plant with tertiary filtration and ultra-violet disinfection of the effluent prior to discharge into the Thredbo River. The Thredbo potable water supply system provides treated water to the Village, including the fire supply. The WTP Assistant Operator is responsible for assisting in the day to day operation of the Thredbo WTP, wastewater collection system and the potable water supply in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner. The operator is regularly required to assist in general environmental services department duties relevant to their experience as required. About the Role: Inspect the WTP operation, conduct the daily sewage influent / effluent test program & record all flows and meter readings. Carry out scheduled cleaning & maintenance of the WTP equipment and water supply infrastructure. Inspect and maintain all domestic and fire water supply storage tanks / inlets / pump stations and report conditions in log. Carry out scheduled cleaning and maintenance of the water supply infrastructure. Assist in the water sampling program in compliance with the EPA licence and water guidelines. Skills & Experience Certificate III / IV in water & wastewater operations desirable, or willing to obtain Minimum 1 year experience in municipal services or related field About Thredbo Thredbo is Australia’s premier year-round alpine destination.
