Purpose of the Role BGIS is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at a highly secure, long-standing government precinct in Edinburgh. Reporting to the National Account Manager, you will coordinate facilities services, technical teams and service partners to ensure safe, compliant and dependable site operations in a complex environment. This is a visible, client-facing role suited to someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, understands technical and engineering-led environments, and brings a steady, accountable approach to working in secure or highly regulated settings. Key Responsibilities - Oversee daily facilities operations, technical services and subcontractor performance - Ensure contractual KPIs, safety standards and compliance obligations are consistently met - Coordinate essential services compliance, maintenance and site works - Support financial planning, forecasting and cost control activities - Maintain strong, respectful working relationships with client representatives and stakeholders - Identify opportunities for service improvement and operational efficiency - Promote a positive, safe and inclusive working environment for all site staff Education, Experience & Skills Essential: - Minimum 5 years' experience in Facilities Management or similar operational role (all levels encouraged to apply) - Engineering background or recognised Mechanical/Electrical trade qualification - Experience working in secure, regulated or high-risk environments (e.g. defence, corrections) - Strong understanding of compliance, safety and essential services - Confident communicator with a calm, considered approach, skilled in building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders across complex, high-stakes, or challenging settings. - Australian Citizenship (required for government clearances) - Experience managing KPIs, response and rectification timeframes Desirable: - Facilities Maintenance Management, Project Management and / or Property Management qualifications. - CMMS experience and solid reporting capability Workplace Information This is a full-time, permanent, on-site role based in Edinburgh, SA. ✔ Free on-site parking available ✔ Long-term contract with strong stability Why Join BGIS?
